My sister seriously believes we never sent a man to the moon. Thank goodness she does. Otherwise, Dark Awakening may never have been inked!

My sister has always challenged conventional thought. Her views regarding Apollo’s trip to the moon (while shared by many), are far from conventional. While I have a harder time believing we didn’t actually land on the cavernous globe (although the evidence surrounding the Van Allen Belts  is fairly compelling), I do admire my sister’s tenacious research and conviction. And, of course, her ideas have always made me a little curious . . . (the last thing you should ever do is leave a journalist with an unanswered question).

The interesting thing is that while I was researching the moon landing, I stumbled on the Georgia Guidestones, an edict for how man should live in accordance with nature. The message of the Guidestones is pretty sobering and a rather dark reminder that population control is a solemn sentiment shared (and promoted) by many — especially those in positions of authority and power.

Is it any wonder, then, that population control and a single World government became the very core of Dark Awakening?

After all, the idea of population control is hardly new. Consider the sentiment shared by CNN’s Ted Turner, “A total world population of 250-300 million people, a 95% decline from present levels, would be ideal.”

Or perhaps the words of HBO’s Bill Maher will bother you even more, “I’m pro-choice, I’m for assisted suicide, I’m for regular suicide, I’m for whatever gets the freeway moving – that’s what I’m for. It’s too crowded, the planet is too crowded and we need to promote death.”

If that didn’t frighten you, Julia Whitty, a columnist for Mother Jones also expresses her choice in very clear terms:

“The only known solution to ecological overshoot is to decelerate our  population growth faster than it’s decelerating now and eventually reverse it—at the same time we slow and eventually reverse the rate at which we consume the planet’s resources. Success in these twin endeavors will crack our most pressing global issues: climate change, food scarcity, water supplies, immigration, health care, biodiversity loss, even war. ”

They aren’t the only ones to express disdain over the current, global population controls.  See which of our leaders, politicians, authors, artists and entertainers add their voice to the growing sentiment.

Despite this, most people seem oblivious. They silently trudge through their day, going about their business as if none of this means anything to them.

And yet it does.

With a global pandemic and over 1.8M people dead from the Coronavirus, many are saying the stones are an echo chamber of an upcoming world government, reproduction and population control and changes to our place within nature.  I challenge you to do your own research. Are the Georgia Guidestones an omen of something dark to come or the whimsical dalliance of a handful of hate-mongers?
